Adding Numeric Pagination in Comments

Step 1:

  • Login to Dashboard
  • Navigate to Settings -> Discussion Page
  • Enable the “Break comments into pages….” checkbox and change the comments number to 10 or anything else

  • Click on “Save Changes” button and save the settings

Step 2:

Add following codes in your functions.php file. Before edit you will keep a backup of your functions.php file.

Adding the numeric pagination at right side of the comment title. So I am filtering the comment’s title by genesis_title_comments hook. Getting the numeric pagination links by WordPress’s paginate_comments_links() function. If you use the add_filter() function then you will always return the output except echoing it.

Step 3:

This the last step. Doing some fancy design effect. Just drop the following CSS in your child theme’s style.css file. At first you will keep a backup of your current CSS file.
